Short answer: Motioneed Motion now scores marketing videos in 39 music genres, up from 18. Paste your website URL and Motion writes an instrumental track for that video: the director picks the genre that fits your brand, skips the genres of the latest videos made on Motioneed, and cuts every scene on the beat. Music is on in Settings for every plan and costs no extra credits.
Music decides how a 30-second video feels before anyone reads a word. With 18 genres, scores started to repeat: videos made one after another could land on the same genre. On October 28, 2026 we added 21 genres, from hardstyle and jersey club to amapiano, reggaeton, K-pop dance, pop punk and brass band funk.

How Motion picks a genre
- It reads your brand. The director sees your site's promise, headings, colors and media, then picks the genre that matches them.
- It avoids recent scores. The genres of the six latest videos made on Motioneed are named in the brief, and the director picks another one unless your brand clearly calls for the same.
- It writes the track for this video. The score is instrumental, with no vocals over your on-screen words, and is cut to the video's length.
- It cuts the video to the music. Scene changes and key actions land on the track's beats, and the biggest hit lands on the reveal.
What each family does for a video
Genre sets the pace a viewer reads at, so it is worth knowing what the families do, even though the director makes the call.
- Club electronic has a steady four-on-the-floor kick. Every beat is a place to cut, so feature lists and UI sequences feel tight and deliberate. It suits software, AI and fintech launches.
- Bass and breaks run fast, at around 170 BPM for drum and bass and jungle. Quick cuts feel natural, which suits products whose promise is speed.
- Hip hop and rap sit slower with heavy low end. There is more room between hits, so a headline can land and hold. It suits consumer apps, creator tools and fashion.
- Global rhythms bring percussion that a viewer feels before they place it: amapiano's log drum, reggaeton's dembow, bhangra's dhol. They give food, travel and lifestyle brands a warmth a synth bed rarely has.
- Rock and punk add live drums and guitars, which read as physical and human. They suit outdoor, sports and playful products.
- Cinematic builds slowly to one big hit, the shape of a trailer. It suits launches and announcements with a single reveal.
- Retro and groove carry a clear era: synthwave's eighties, electro swing's twenties, hyperpop's internet. They suit brands whose look already points to one.
Music and sound effects
The score carries the rhythm, and sound effects sit under it. A move that lands on an accent already has the music's hit, so an effect is added only where the music leaves room: a quiet passage, or a move between accents. The Music switch in Settings covers both the score and its effects.
How to get music in your video
- Paste your URL on the Motion page.
- Open Settings. Under Audio, Music is on by default.
- Generate. To add a narrator over the music, turn on Narration too and pick one of the 18 voices.
Turn Music off for a silent video, for example one that plays muted on a landing page.
Cost
Music is part of every Motion video. Credits are charged for the video's seconds and model, never for the score, on every plan, Free included.
FAQ
Can I choose the genre myself? Not yet. The director picks one per video from the 39, based on your brand and the latest scores.
Will two of my videos sound the same? Rarely. The genres of the six latest videos made on Motioneed are avoided unless your brand clearly calls for one of them.
Does the music have vocals? No. Every score is instrumental, so it never competes with your on-screen text or narration.
Does music cost extra? No. A video costs the same credits with music on or off.
Does it work for vertical and short videos? Yes. The track is written for each video's own length, from 10 to 90 seconds, in any format, including 9:16.
Can I turn the music off? Yes. Turn Music off in Settings and the video comes out silent, or with narration only if Narration is on.
